Survivor Geekery
You know, I'm always thinking of passionate, profound posts to make to my journal (I know-sure I am), but I always end up posting stuff like this.
Behold my geekery:
I seriously worked on this for an hour when I had tons of other stuff to do. I hope there's no life after death so I'll never have to account for all the time I've spent on Survivor over the years.
You know, I'm always thinking of passionate, profound posts to make to my journal (I know-sure I am), but I always end up posting stuff like this.
Behold my geekery:
My Pics for ASS2 Contestants
Women:
Ami (from Vanuatu)- Can you have an all star show without Ami? Like her or hate her, she WAS the Vanuatu season.
Twila- Twila doesn't get nearly enough credit- she was probably the best player on Vanuatu. Chris is lucky she had to backstab or she easily would have won.
Cirie- Cirie was the only good thing about her season.
Stephanie- She's been on twice, but she's definitely one of the most memorable women to ever play. I'd like to see her go up again against all star players.
Amy (Guatamala)- Amy was really memorably tough. We didn't see a lot of strategy out of her, but I think she has it in her.
Becky- I'm going to trust Yul's word that Becky was doing awesome behind-the-scenes strategizing with him and Candace in Cook Island. I'd like to see what she could do on her own.
Candace- She made some strategic missteps, but at least she was proactive. Plus, she was great in challenges.
Michelle- Michelle was screwed by a twist of fate. I think she would have gone a lot further.
Angie (from Palua)- I know this will be unpopular, but she had a good underdog storyline and she seems like she would have done really well if she weren't in the ill-fated Ulong tribe.
1 China girl (Amanda? Pei Gee?)
I like this roster of women because the majority of them can kick some serious challenge ass, hopefully eliminating the trend that we've had for a few seasons of women being kicked off first. There's also some really great strategists here as well- only Becky and Michelle could really be accused of riding coattails and both have been deemed "silent partners" by their alliance-mates in post-show interviews.
Men:
Ian- I was rooting for Ian over Tom in his season- I think he was the better strategist and I'm sorry he got guilted out of the final 2. I want to see what he can do out of that shadow.
Rafe- Rafe also got guilted out of the final 2. He was excellent in challenges and was kind of the power behind Stephanie's throne.
Brian (from Guatamala)- He showed hints of a good strategic mind- maybe we can see that in action.
Ozzy- Ozzy the challenge dominator! Like Terry! Only not nearly so inept! I'm not one of those who think he should have won Cook Island, but he put in a really good showing and I'd like to see him go again.
Jonathan (from Cook Islands)- Because he is awesome-reasonable, intelligent, and willing to stand up to Probst.
Shane- We've got to have someone from Exile island- at least he's interesting. If they have to cast a jerk, I'd rather it be Shane than the alternatives.
Yau Man- One of the most memorable characters from this past season- very smart and charismatic.
Terry- Since I'm going up to 10 contesants, why not? He'll balance out Ozzy. Was BobDawg on this season? I don't remember. If so, maybe he can take Terry's place.
Anthony (from Fiji)- Anthony got kind of screwed by the tribal shuffle. I want him in this game because I'd like him to win and beat Rocky over the head with his big million dollar cardboard check.
1 China Guy (Todd?)
I'm not a big fan of the assy, "character" guys so I've tried to limit them. I've got some good strategists, some good challenge contenders, and a lot of people who deserve second chances. Everyone's saying it's hard to make up a list of women, but I found it much harder to come up with a list of men who deserved a second shot- maybe because most of my favorite guys won.
Preliminary tribes;
tribe 1:
Ami (leader)
Cirie (strategic mastermind)
Amy (tough, some strategic wiles)
Becky (silent partner)
Angie (underdog/hell why not?)
Terry (challenge powerhouse)
Rafe (power behind the throne)
Jonathan (strategic mastermind)
Yau Man (underdog)
guy from China
tribe 2:
Stephanie (leader)
Twila (strategic mastermind)
Candace (tough, some strategic wiles)
Michelle (silent partner)
girl from China (maybe Pei Gee to balance out the ages a bit more)
Ozzy (challenge powerhouse)
Ian (power behind the throne/silent partner)
Brian (strategic mastermind)
Anthony (underdog)
Shane (hell, why not?)
Vanuatu (2), Pulua (2), Guatamala (4-counting Steph), Exile Island (3), Cook Island (4), Fiji (3), China (2)
There don't seem to be too many pre-existing alliances here- Ozzy and Candace or Jonathan and Becky may be the most natural ones since they were all in a loose alliance at some point. Michelle and Anthony may have been in a loose alliance as well.
